Bettél is a small watchmaking business in Muizenberg, Cape Town. This page explains what personal information we hold and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, email info@bettelwatches.com and we will answer.

What we collect

If you ask to be told when a product launches, we store the email address you give us and the fact that you agreed to be contacted. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

If you buy on a product page, the payment runs through PayPal — by PayPal balance or by debit or credit card. PayPal handles your card details, which we never see, and passes us your name, your email address, your phone number if PayPal holds one for you, and the delivery address you chose there. If you order by email instead, at info@bettelwatches.com, what we receive is whatever you send us — typically your chosen strap colour, wrist measurement, and your delivery name and address. Either way, we keep that information only to make and ship your order, to answer questions about it, and to meet our own recordkeeping and tax obligations. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing unless you separately ask to join a waitlist.

If you use the chat assistant on this site, your messages are read by an AI assistant so it can answer you, and — if it cannot, or if your question needs a person — a member of our team reads them too, along with any contact detail you give so we can follow up. We keep those conversations only to answer you and to see what our site should explain better. We do not use them to train any AI system. They are deleted automatically twelve months after the conversation, and you can ask us to delete yours sooner — email us and we will.

Why we hold it

Only to email you about the launch you asked about, and to answer you if you write to us. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone else for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Until you tell us to stop. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent. Email info@bettelwatches.com and we will act on it.
